Q. What age group are the classes aimed at?

A. Depending on the individuals ability to concentrate, ages 5+ up to adult..

Q. What do I need to start?

A. A t-shirt a pair of shorts/loose bottoms and a bottle of water.

Q. What does a typical TKD session involve?

A. Sessions are split into two parts with a mixture of traditional and Olympic Taekwondo training; the traditional side developing self defence techniques and the Olympic side which involves aerobic interval-based training which improves fitness strength co-ordination and flexibility.

Q. What are the benefits of TKD training?

A. improved fitness strength and flexibility, improved concentration and focus improved discipline, improved confidence and self-esteem, the opportunity to compete in regional, national and international events

Q. I know my child will have fun, but he has quit other activities before. How can we keep him from quitting?

A.As long as a parent makes and keeps the commitment of making sure their child attends class twice per week, children will learn and excel in their training. Kids that train consistently will progress in martial arts and should have no problem reaching the life-changing goal of black belt.

Q. What are the chances that my child could get hurt doing martial arts?

A. Your child’s safety is our main concern. We use padded safety gear, abide by strict safety rules and regulation for instructors and students, use padded safety weapons and even have high-tech padded floors — all for the safety of our students.​

Q. My child has never been good at sports; can he do this?

A. Every child has what it takes to be good at martial arts, because in martial arts they are not competing or comparing themselves with anyone. Martial arts are more than just punching and kicking. Character development training is just as important as punching and kicking. Once we develop a child’s confidence, they can achieve anything they set their mind to.​

Q. Is martial art training good exercise if my child needs to lose weight?

A. Martial arts is great exercise for kids. Martial arts training, combined with a sensible diet, can transform a child’s physical and overall health. Kids that feel good about themselves are children that develop strong confidence and self esteem — which they can carry over in all aspects of life in the future.​

Q. Will martial arts training make my child aggressive to others?

A. No way! As a matter of fact, we are careful to teach our students to use common sense before self defense. Kids are taught to make smart decisions when it comes to self defense from the first day of class. They will know when it is the right time to use what they have been taught.​

Q. What type of events are there?

A. Gradings - enable students to progress through the ranks are held every 3 months Competitions - these are held throughout the year and range from inter-club level all the way through to international level both in forms and sparring.

Q. Does the club supply equipment?

A. Equipment can be purchased from the school. All equipment supplied is WTF approved.
